ExxonMobil Chemical / Olefins & Aromatics Facility, Beaumont, Texas
Post Hurricane IKE – Recovery Efforts/ December 2008-May 2009
The Beaumont Chemicals Facility suffered devastating effects from Hurricane IKE with an intrusion of salt water throughout the site to a depth of eight feet. Petrochem Power Consultants was contracted and assigned as the "quarterback" team for the client – providing leadership, organizational, and technical expertise in the field of industrial instrumentation. PPC was charged with assisting the client’s engineering team with damage assessments, providing oversight to the instrument loop testing/repair contractor, troubleshooting, and final units commissioning and sign-off of QA documentation, acting as the client’s representative. The actual completion of re-commissioning and start-up activities was ahead of the planned schedule, and PPC demobilized with a flawless safety record, having worked in excess of 12,000 man hours.
